With all my contacts I am haveing trouble finding the teak step pads for my 37 dbl cabin. I will even make them if I could find the wood in planks. What I need is, The pads for the steps to the bridge, and the pads for the gunnels. Any ideas, ThanksThink

We replaced the exterior teak on our 39' Double Cabin with a 1/2" thick plastic starboard type product. It looks pretty good in my opinion and the best part is it never needs to be refinished like the teak. I will try to take some pictures tomorrow.

Here are the pictures of the step treads. We also replaced the teak on the pulpit.

I don't know if the steps going up to the aft cabin are like these. They were originally teak and we replaced them with the same gray plastic. We repainted the boat last winter and decided to leave them off, fill the holes and paint the steps and add non-skid to the surface. A decision we haven't regretted.

Here is a link to one of the manufacturers of the type of plastic we used. I'm not sure if the stuff we used was made by them. We purchased ours from Wolf's Marine in Benton Harbor, Michigan eight or nine years ago.

Good luck with your project.

Thanks Rob, Those do look real nice. I'll run them by the boos and see what she thinks. They look like they are easy to maintain with out the teak oil mess. I'll be doing my best to convince her she'll like them.Pray

I used Plasteak on my boat. Go to www.plasteak.com Know a guy here in Fla has a swim platform on his Hatteras been there 10 years and hasn't done anything to it, Still looks like TEAK!! Good Stuff!! Look at thier plastic trim lumber, build it your self, I bought 500 ft for handrail. Used left over strips for bow pulpit trim. Cuts just like wood!! Sorrydog

I LIKE that! Sick of looking at faded out, ugly teak. Might give it try next year.

Thanks Sorrydog. That is some pretty incredible stuff. We were lookin at different lamanents for the galley and head area's and I believe we found our solution. they have some great products and prices seem to fit the budget. Can't wait for tomorrow to call them about step pads and decking materials. Hopefully we will have some pix of finished items soon.

Go to sorrydog.com, click listings scroll down and I think its under Motoryachts, look at the 40 ft Sea Ray, swim platform, my neighbor and I did. I run this boat to the Bahamas every year, he and I used to live in the British West Indies, we were SKINNY BACK THEN AND LEGENDARY! Send us a pic! Sorrydog
