The cockpit flooring is injexted molded plastic, then I put down 12" rubber squares on top. To do thos you will need to add additional aluminum supports under the engine hatches, I did this by attaching them to the hatch so not to reduce my access to the engines.

The mattress is from Handcrafted Mattress Company, 1935 Deere Ave, Irvine, Ca, 92606: 714-241-7751. They have two kinds a foam or spring. This is a very firm foam (nothing like foam found in a cushion) that is hyoallerginic and mildew resistant. If you want a regular spring mattress, you can also check with a manufacturer near you. The above company HMR does make the mattress with access to hatches etc below the birth.
