I resemble that remark!

You need 4 inch (or so) flappers. Lots of places sell them.

If you are not as handy as Jeff - I'm certainly not - then you might try http://www.cpperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=3807

Jeff: I thought you had made yours out of old socks or something similar, and a bungee cord

Heck no! I'd have to BUY a bungee cord.

Mark,

Check Jeff's web page: http://fastjeff.tripod.com Navigate (seemed the appropriate term for this ... :-) ) towards the bottom and there's a notation about engine exhaust flappers. I'm in the process of buying a 32' sedan bridge and this will be one of the things I'll add to the boat.

This is a link to the drawing for them:

I don't know Jeff personally... but there's talk that he coined the term flappers from his time during the roarin' 20's when he made the acquaintance of several ladies of the same name. Liar

... kidding Jeff.

Not exactly. It refers to the sound and motion of his plastic replacement teeth when he removes them at night for airing out.
