I am 74 years young, Living and having the boats docked with in
100 feet in front of home on beautiful Killarney Bay, N.E Georgian Bay.
It could not get any better. Incl the opportunity to be a member of this
amazing boating site.

I will be turning 44 this month!
I went from a 29.5 Wellcraft Scarab to a very comfortable 32ft Express.
Talk about one extreme to another. Lol

I was 39 last year but for some reason I seem to be 65 now. I guess that's 455 in dog years.....

Bought my present M in Oct 2001 from a guy who had visa problems in the wake of 9/11. Paid a fair price, tho.

41 years young and trying to sink the sub as much as possible while it's still in service Pray. This is my first summer with theBigM. I can see many good times ahead (and lots of cash burned up). 86 degrees today!!!! Bad thing about being 41 is retirement is soooo far away. Not wishing my life away, just longing to hang on the lake everyday!

I am only a wee lad of 54.

I'll be launching for my first season of Marinette life next month. Just finished installing new stainless rudder, cutless bearing and stuffing box today. Still have to blast and paint bottom, and finish new head with waste, water and head water supply tank; and put galley back together w/ new stove and self-built ice box. Also recently finished sound insulating rear deck with 1" Soundown composite barrier foam, which combined with two Centek dual-stage mufflers will hopefully lead to much purring along on Cayuga Lake this summer.

Hell, Roper, you're almost done!

A word of free (and know what that's worth) advise for you folks out there approaching retirement: Save every penny you can and live for the future, not for today. Forget about buying things you don't really need like a bigger, better home. or a new vehicle (other than a boat!). Make do with what you have and save, save, save for your retirement years. Why? 'Cause they're gonna be the best years of your life IF you are prepared for them.

I wish someone had told me this 20 years ago. Instead of tinkling away money on dumb projects (such as my kit cars and autocross racing), I would have banked those bucks in a good investment and been better prepared for my retirement years. But, no, I had to go living for THEN at a time when I had to go to work 5 days a week! What a dope I was. Don't make my mistake.

PCRather... I may have you beat. I'm in process of buyin' a 32' '88 sedan bridge.
Current boat (and this is the biggest I've owned) is a 15 1/2' open bow runabout with a 70HP Johnson...
... " new " boat's gonna feel like I own the Titanic! :-\

... and about retirement. Think it's gonna be a rough road to hoe dollar-wise for a lot of folks.

My Dad had your idea about saving for retirement. He would say he would like to go somewhere or do something, then he would say when I retire.
He retired Jan 1 died June 7 same year.
I live life & take every opportunity. The feds & your kids taxes can take care of me when I can no longer .
