Finally launched the old gal and was just about to enter my slip when the engine alarm went off. Talk about bad timing! And the wind was blowing like mad (naturally). I eyeballed the gages and didn't see a problem, so shut the noise maker off and finished slipping the boat. After getting the lines all fixed up, I did some investigating. Turns out that the temp switch on the port engine decided that it would go off 60 degrees lower than its setting, the ~)*@#%6!
No biggee, but boy did it shake me up.

PS: Ever try to start the port engine by using the switch for the panel lights (which is only inches away)? Doesn't work very well. I prepared to jumper that "damn solenoid" and asked the "Admiral" to hit the starter for me. She did, it ground, and I thought "the SOB cured itself." I then tried to start it with the panel light switch again. Boy, did I feel the fool when I figured it out!
Any one else ever do that? Come on now, 'fess up!
