Hey guys, the previous owner of my boat cut a big piece of foam to fit the forward bunk. It works, and he did a fine Spartan-esque job, but it's not covered and it's one big piece, instead of the two halves that normally come with Big M's. Anybody got a pair of front cushions to sell? Or a replacement I could get that would be sufficient? Or even dimensions that I could use to make new ones. Are the edges that go up against the bow walls flared outward or are they just a vertical line? I could cut the one he made in half and use it if I had to, but I'd still need some sort of cover for each half, and the one I have kinda emits odors non conducive to the Admiral's enjoyment.. Oh yeah, It's a 1972 32' Express. The boat, not the Admiral.
Thanks,
Sean

I just cut a piece of foam tonight for a seat (not on the boat). Never did it before - it's easy with an electric carving knife. For the bunk, you can make a pattern out of thin cardboard. The foam should be angled to match the hull..wider at the top than the bottom. Investigate at foam suppliers to get the proper thickness/firmness. We used a type that is just a bit too firm, so test for comfort. Have a seamstress sew the cover for you with the foam you supply. Two halves for the berth is a better way to go. Much easier to get at the storage area underneath the berth and easier to remove for washing.

Sean,

You may want to try this site www.ehow.com when U get to their home page in their search area type in " how to clean foam rubber" I used this method worked rather well to rid the musty odor

You'll have bad times, but they'll just wake you up to the good times you weren't paying attention to

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
