Checked my CAPAC a couple times over the weekend and it was well above 9 and I was happy about that.. It's usually fine.. But then I started painting my transom and I lowered the swim ladder so I could get to it. I happened to check the CAPAC a little later and it was like at 8, maybe a little under and I was a little flummoxed. Then I remembered the ladder was in and I lifted it out and checked again a bout a half hour later and it was back to where it normally is, above 9.. Coincidence? Checked several more times before I left the marina and every time it was fine.. Just some food for thought about what might juice the needle a bit either way.. By the way, it was a pretty great Saturday and the rain held off most the day Sunday, too .. Love it when Erie is a dear-y.

Interesting. I'll have to try that. Perhaps since the ladder is bolted to the swim-platform which is welded to the hull the ladder is exposing the hull to the water. Normally the hull is supposed to be isolated via barrier coat and a few coats of bottom paint. That ladder in the water is bypassing the hull isolation. Just a theory.
