Ill let you have the barnacles! The boat ran great got 26 knots @3500 rpms could have gotten a little more but I didn't feel the need to.
I'm satisfied with the performance. By the way the port side shaft was rotted 1/4 of the way through anode was missing any thoughts?
Thanks
Bob

Tachs work from the pulse rate coming from the ignition, and should not be affected much by the voltage they get.

I would remove the props and take them to a prop shop to be measured. Otherwise, you just don't know what you have. It is an easy in-the-water job on SCUBA, but not so much fun with a snorkel. You will need the proper wrenches (one must be thin to fit the locknut) and a good prop puller. The "gearpuller" type will not work because the rudders are in the way. You will need one that works from the side. You can probably buy the tools you need for what it would cost to hire a professional diver.

I thought at one time someone mentioned that they'd been able to modify a standard gear puller that would allow you to pull a prop off the shaft without having to make any adjustments to the rudders.

Anyone willin' to fess up? And if so, would you share what needs to be done?

I have had the best luck with "scissor" type pullers, like http://www.nettleprops.c...LL-103-PROP-PULLER.aspx

Do not use any puller that pulls on the blades. Hub only. Don't forget to leave a nut on the shaft so the prop only goes an inch when it pops free, not falling to the ground. Don't ask me how I know these things.

Here’s a prop puller that’s guarantied to work the 1st pic is of a store bought 1 @ about $200 2nd & 3rd are pix of home made one from stuff I had laying around that’s why the odd shape will pop any 3 bladed prop with no sweat, I believe that the members that I’ve loaned it will agree to the easy use of it.
