would it help or hurt putting a good layer of 5200 on tab bracket before i bolt them down or just bolt the s/s directly to new painted tab bracket and a new anode

5200 is some pretty permanent stuff, if for some reason U have to remove the trim tabs again U may run into complications. It’s pretty hard to isolate the tabs from the hull brackets due to the # of S.S. screws. I’d just use a thin plastic type material between the AL & S.S. so they are not in direct contact other than the screws. Than if U R of the finicky sort U might want to cover the screw body with shrink wrap & use plastic washers on the bolt & nut areas. This method should isolate the two. But that would involve a lot of work trying to enlarge the holes in the S.S. trim tabs to accommodate the shrink wrap. Whistle
