I am in the process of making all new wood for the areas under the rear deck hatch, under the generator, rearward to the transom and between the engines as well as some mounting plates for the AC strainer and pump and have found some oilbased Rustoleum Silver paint that is going to look fantastic as well as brighten up the areas when I am in there working. Found it at lowes in quart cans. I will post some pictures when I get it all in place, I just thought it looked good and had a purpose. It also matches the " Silver Dollar " roof coating that I am using to touch up the few places in the bilge floor and insides of the hull that did not clean up like new.

Hi Doug,

I did this 2 years ago. My wood was pretty rotten. I coated the plywood with fiberglass resin first (prevents rot) then painted them with battleship gray. I really struggled getting the screws back in. Stripped some out. ended up with only 1 or 2 in each piece. Any tips re-inserting them, please let us all know.

You can use rivnuts, one of FastJeff's favorites, through the aluminum angle and then use flathead machine screws to hold the cockpit sole plywood down. This is better long-term than simply using a bigger screw. I install the rivnuts using a poprivet tool. Mcmaster.com has them. You might consider using neoprene tape over the aluminum to give the plywood a better surface to sit on.
