I've been putting this off since last year not wanting to pull the helm instrument panel. The panel switch has a black wire i think is connected and a blue that is not connected. With limited space to see i really can't see. I guess what i'm asking does anyone have a diagram ? I have a diagram on a 88 32ft. but doesn't show everything and mine has probably been modified, you know what i mean. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Mine is a reostat, simply turn clockwise. Lights are always on, you can only dim them.

Wire from IGN goes to one side and the blue wire is daisy chained to all gauges' "lamp" terminal.

Thanks guys for the quick reply. I know its a no brainer but don't want to Ho Ho up anything else. Got the whole day so while i got the panel back , i'll put new bulbs and check the switch since it's orginal. Like the idea of a reostsat , were on the river at night as much as day. Don't like bright panel lights; might be the reason not hooked up.

I have the flybridge panels out of the boat. The red bulbs are held behind the panel in plastic clamps and powered by a blue wire connected to the "NAV LIGHTS" breaker switch. The black goes back to ground somewhere. The only way to turn them all off at once is to disconnect the blue wire at the breaker. The large amount of gauge and panel lighting wiring turns what is fairly straightfoward connections into kind of a rats nest. If I were to diagram the circuts I would probably leave the lighting circuts out.
