Thought I'd post the logo created by the now defunct Marinette Owners Yacht Club that used to be active (til around 1994) on the Chespeake Bay. (main purpose of the post is to tinker with the process of posting photos with which I'd been having problems - thnx Jeff, it worked. The secret is to select "attach", not edit after the original post)
By the way, boys & girls, I'll bet I could have that thing printed on peelable vinyl for nominal money, in a small size that could be applied to a smooth surface such as glass. Hmmmm.....

How 'nominal'?

Two and a half yeas later, I'd buy a couple if they were available.

Can't say...but a wild guess is that a 5x7" might be in the $10 or under range. I recently got a 22" dia vinyl logo made for $87 so you could guess the number of 5x7's you could cram into that area. You could also do itself with an ink jet printer applied to a peelable window sticker. I've done it - it's cheap. But the color saturation is not good and I'm not sure about sun fade.

Just to add to the "cornfusion"....

... and if memory serves me (I'd rather it serve me a long island iced tea, but I digress...)

The male seahorse bears the young and raises them. Don't know how that relates to the subject at hand, but I though I'd throw it out there.

And I'd be interested in a couple of these. Also a pennant run from the bow would be kind of nice.

John Althouse made some pennants - I got two - and they were not terribly expensive. Perhaps, he still has some. Meanwhile, I will advise on vinyl logo costs when I get them.

Did you ever have those stickers made? I was seriously considering the seahorse-in-tutu to be included in the name we are picking for our new BigM

In truth, I forgot..but am glad I did. The material I was thinking about using turns out not to be so good, curling aroiund the edges after several months and no way to faster it down (except ugly tape on the outer edge). But now that you have reminded me, I will check again to see whether there are other, more durable options

Back when I actually worked for a living (seems so long ago) I had sticky-backed plates made of heavy aluminum foil to use as nameplates and serial plates on outdoor equipment. They stood up very well - the graphic was actually anodized onto the surface. They weren't real cheap, but then Jeff can afford to buy some good stuff for his friends....

No one has mentioned that the sets need to be mirror-image, one for each side of the boat. Or, perhaps that is obvious to everyone but me....
