I have installed a fairly large number of the pertronix units which use a hallsail or hall effect piece as the pickup and a magnetic strip as the trigger. Now in the instructions that come with the pertronix units it states that the coil has to be a certain number of ohms or within a range of ohms. I always used the accel coil with the yellow case as that was one of the few that I found that fell within the range that pertronix was calling for.
