I'm going to paint the bottom of my 32"
I have seen a lot of post on the steps for sand blasting and all new prime and paint.
I want to paint over the existing paint for now.
Have some Trilux 33 and a gallon of primer.
Thought I saw a step by step for bottom paint over existing paint but can't seem to find it now.
From what I can see I need to power wash, sand, etch any bare spots and then prime the spots then paint with the 33.
Does the entire bottom need to be primed or can I just etch and prime spots and then put a coat of 33 on the entire bottom?
Any help with tool's and procedure would be great.
I will apply with roller and brush.
Also have the previous owner and a "reformed" boat guy to help.

Thanks

JB

Check out the Interlux site.. they put all the application guides on line and use to offer a CD which is nice to have.
It is easy to recoat.. Sand.. Etch and barrier coat bare spots and apply two coats off 33.

Light sanding over old Trilux is all that is recommended. Plus treating the bare spots as you describe. If old paint is sound, generally only one fresh coat is called for. Two may be better but not crucial
