I have been looking at Marinettes and wanting one for sometime now. We live in Texas and there aren't very many here so we were figuring on never getting one or hopefully finding a really good deal on one that would leave us enough money left over to ship it to us. There has been a Marinette for sale at Lake Texoma tho' now for a year or so sitting in dry dock, but we didn't want to spend 37k for one, we were hoping to find an older one that would be less expensive. Well my DH decided to see just how desperate they were to sell this gem and found out the owner was offered 23K just a few weeks ago but took too long to decide he would accept it and the person offering went and bought a different boat. I guess he learned his lesson and I do believe this boat was meant to be mine, somebody was watching out for me because we came in and offered him 18K and he took it. So now I have a beauty of a boat, just needs some TLC and elbow grease to clean it up after sitting for a while. A thorough check of the mechanics and away we will go, hopefully with no unforseen problems. But since we have never owned a Marinette before and always had plastic boats we may need to turn to some experts for advice.
