Bill:

My boat has similar pitting but, long as the pits don't go all the way through, you can repair it fairly easily.

The way I did mine was to dab at the pits with a brush, using the ever-thickening epoxy barrier coat left in the pan. (It gets thicker and thicker as it sits.) You can fill in all of the minor pits that way, and then be ready for the next barrier coat (which you have to put on while the present one is still tacky. Otherwise, you have to solvent remove the amine film.) Any really large pitted areas got a coating of PC-7 marine epoxy (Ace/ True Value). I troweled it on over the last application of the still tacky barrier coat. When that tacked out, I laid on two coats AF and took a well deserved rest!

I don't own a Marinette but I own and work on aluminum boats fairly frequently. Pitting is an issue that gets an owners attention and rightly so. The most critical thing is to get the pitted areas blast cleaned to white metal and be sure that all blast residues are removed. For deep pitting I've found the best stuff is Belzona 1121 Super XL epoxy compound. Its important to "scrub it in" to the pits with a stiff, short natural bristle brush before slathering on a thicker layer with a trowel. And its important to not apply any primers or etching solutions to the pits beforehand assuming the time duration between blast cleaning and applying the Belzona is very short.
