Anyone have an impeller housing they'd like to part with? '88 Chrysler 318 startboard engine
I was pulling the impellers off Sunset Seeker today (along with a couple of other "boat to-do's"). Port one came off pretty much without a hitch. Got the starboard bracket mounting bolt totally loosened and started on the tensioner bolt. Turned without much effort (almost no effort). Removed the bracket mounting bolt and the whole impeller assembly popped loose which it shouldn't have done just yet. Turned out the tensioner bolt's ear on the impeller was broken off! Ie. it had snapped straight thru the threads at some point in the past. I didn't hear the broken half fall to the bilge and don't see it after looking carefully (including checking the lower hose to ensure it didn't fall in there) so some bilge monkey may have over tightened it, heard it snap, and removed the busted piece leaving the impeller tensioned but without a way of retensioning it if needed. I'm going back to the boat next weekend with a large donut ring magnet and troll for it just in case it's under the generator mounting board.
Be that as it may, I'm going to need a replacement. So if anyone has one I'm in the market. If not, any suggestions on a good place pick one up?
