I am getting ready to make the trip to Harbor Town for a haul out, bottom paint and hull sides paint. The old factory 1981 burgundy disco stripes are leaving. We are going with white hullsides and a small black stripe under the rubrail. Once back at the slip I will continue with the painting myself getting rid of the wide burgundy stripes.

Question is, I will be rolling Durabak Non Skid on the walkways, foredeck and flybridge passenger area. from what I have read here and in other places it is a bitch to clean. I have just started using the light grey on the work boats and it looks like a good color to hide some dirt and cut down on some glare while not looking like it belongs on a battleship. I am thinking about doing the toe rail in black hullside paint. Does anyone have any pics of contrasting paints on the decks or patterns they have used with different colors so close together like that? How bad would it look if I used the grey nonskid from the cabin all the way to the toe rail? That might eliminate future bubbling of paint around handrail stanchions...

Some where on here I read about replacing the old rubber rings under the stanchions with Nylon washers under each screw. If you prep the deck good and use this in place of those ugly rubber's you will eliminate the bubbling. Mine has been in place for 2 years now with no sign of the dreaded bubbling. Like I said earlier its all in the prep work.
Side note; that dreaded bubbling comes from the standing water and moisture it creates under the rubber pads. stop by the boat for a beer sometime and I'll show you.
