Along with fiddling with my "new" house I have decided to allocate my time to a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Port Clinton and the Bass Islands have an interesting history with the Ford Trimotor. The planes are no longer used to move people and cargo to and from the Islands but through a generous individual and a group of volunteers the Trimotor will hopefully come back to this area and stay for good.
Tonight was my first night working on the plane and it was quite interesting. I learned what a cleco is and how to use it.
Allot of the folks are pilots and EAA members with plenty of experience and knowledge. Its a very slow process, measure 3 times and cut once type of thing. All parts are made from scratch on the spot or shipped in.
