On a 1985 Marinette 32 foot Sedan, the deadrise at the transom is 12 degrees; at the galley (where most thru-hull transducers get placed) it's 20 degrees.

Angle measured on port side + angle measured on starboard side = sum divided by 2 = the correct angle.

Doug - he uses a steel to alum adapter strip. Works just like conversion cables for your computer or TV (parallel to usb, big plug to little). By turning it over, can be alum to steel. Very versatile. I have source for them if you'd like one.
