I had mentioned having a Marinette get together this summer in another thread and some folks sounded interested. If I was to try and do some of the arranging, this would mean that we would primarily draw from the pool of water between louisville and Cincinnati.

Lets use this thread to generate interest, promote conversation and to decide if there is enough support to do such a thing. I will throw out some of my thoughts on location and such, just to get us started. I cannot dedicate the time to to being any sort of a master of cerimonies or anything like that but would be willing to keep this thread going, gather and create a database of those interested or not within the above mentioned area and make dockage arrangments when and if the time comes.

I think it is fairly obvious that Warsaw is generally the mid point and a pretty nice destination. It is a bummer to boat from there already cause I love to get out and run and it would be a lot more fun for me if I was the one traveling. If you are from the area mentioned your traveling distance should not be more than 70 miles from either direction if this ends up being being our location.

Additionally, if we met in Warsaw and at Pier 99 where I boat out of, we could utilize the club house for a get together and maybe have a picthin or have some local food brought in for an evening meal or lunch. It makes a good place to visit and talk boats.

I would for sure want to keep things simple with minimal planning this first year other than date, place and a little food event maybe.

As far as dates I would have no preference other than if we do end up in Warsaw we would need to coordinate with our local CCYC yacht club so as not to over lap one of thier monthly events. For that matter these events are a great time and we would all be quite welcome to join in and there is always a ton of food, a party with a live band or sometimes a DJ if that sounds better than a quieter time. ???

Lets have everyone's thoughts. !!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good to me Doug,
With all the repairs and expense on everything else I didn't get the chance to go through the engines like I wanted to last year. So needless to say we spend a great deal of time at the dock. Still had one hell of a summer but do plan on running more this year if they keep the gas in line.

Man it seem cold out with the wind this evening !!! I went up to Warsaw and visited my boat this evening and she was doing fine but I had to convience her that it was just not time yet to go for a ride... I have loaned my trailer to a buddy and his 38 Chris Craft is sitting on it so I am sitting on a set of boat jacks and lowered down almost on the ground below her ready for some warm spring days to get her ready for paint prep from the rub rails down.

I am enthused that we could make a good get together out of it.

Some one throw out some dates and the logic that goes with them..

Lets start out with early mid or later in the season.

I would say that Mid to Later might be best because the water conditions are more predictable but I am up for anything. I run to Cincy last summer with about 6 other boats and we run hull down through drift several times on that trip.

For what it is worth, we have 6 Marinette's in my marina at Pier 99, the most beautiful 41 convertible in the world, no kidding... my 39 Sedan, not so much, a 32 FB sedan a 28 express single and (2) 41 Seacrests house boats.

Count me in Doug. We will most likely already be at Pier 99 but either way, if not we would join the fun. I am also willing to help with planning and food. We could bring the chicken broaster up and do a bunch of fried chicken and ho-made fries. I think I could also talk Terry Carter in to bringing his 41 aft and Charlie Oshner in to bringing his 39 aft for the party. As you know there are a number of other Marinettes in the Louisville pool and we would just need to get the word out.

Sharon and I would love to go! When Manhattan Harbour opens, I'll make the rounds and see if I can generate interest with the other BigM owners. Don't what help I could be but ask and I'll see what I can do.

Not commiting now but if gas prices would drop (probably not) you might have a couple of BigM from WV.
