You may want to check out Dive N Dog products for ladders. They will take the weight. I know I have one with a small flip out platform on the last step. Ken

Jack,

It looks like a well made ladder except for a rail to hold on to once U get on the top step especially if it’s a bit choppy when getting on to the S/P. But I believe one could adapt some sort of S.S. tubing to give one something to grab onto. The price is also right Whistle After talking with U & knowing U plan on doing some fishing just a little heads up the ladder will be a hindrance when U go to net that 30lb salmon d'oh!. AnyWho just my1/2 penny's worth Whistle

I have this same ladder except that mine has four sections, if I remember correctly. It has served well for some years, and holds my (not quite 350', even with dive gear) bulk pretty well.

The only trouble I have had with it was when a diver (who I allowed to use the ladder) left it down and it got covered with barnacles. What a job to bring it back.

I have a pair of ss handrails that I plan to mount vertically on the transom where they can be reached as one gets to the top of the ladder. They would also be a place to tie stuff that is being carried on the swim platform. I'll post pictures when it is complete.

I welded on one additional step to the stock ladder and it got much more friendly. Why they thought anyone could gracefully ascend that ladder is beyond me.

Jack, does the ladder fold up on the swim platform? I'm going to buy one and want to be sure before purchase. Sure can't beat the price. Thanks for the post.

I know that you asked Jack, but just for the record - my swim ladder, the same make but with four steps, mounts at the center rear of the swim platform, and there is plenty of room for the collapsed ladder to fold forward and lie flat on the swim platform. I have a line made fast to the bottom rung that allows me to pull it up from the cockpit.

I mounted mine using Rivnuts set in holes in the swim platform. It seems to be plenty strong, and during one of the Florida hurricanes the ladder beat a piling to death without suffering any real damage. I like to use the long-reach rivnuts with a fender washer beneath the platform, all gooped up.

Thanks Doug; thats what is needed to know. It's the same length as my old homemade one. Really ugly and doesn't fold up on the platform.

Check out my boat and it's pictures. " 2007 to present from kenny" That ladder is a dive n dog with the hand rails that are removable. At 245lbs that system works great for me. Kenny

Thanks for all the comments guys, just thought it was a totally reasonable price (shipping included) and I wanted it to fold outta the way on top (not sure if I should have gotten the underneth mounting type with the thick ribs of the swimplatform and all) sooooo I thought I'd let you guys check it out in case you needed one, also.
