I need your considered opinions. I have a selnoid choke on my 327 and there is supposed to be a engine block switch that opens when the engine get up to temp. Now I boat on a lake that hardly ever gets to 70 degrees...more like 50 something most of the year. And since I cool with raw water, no heat exchanger, what temp t-stat/switch would you think I should be looking for?

Thanks

Hey Joe,

As U know I ran the same type water as U. for years I ran 165* T-stats with good operating results I think I even got better MPG but it’s hard to say with all the trolling I did. Seemed the hotter the eng. the better the combustion. AnyWho my 1/2 penny’s worth Anxious

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Doc,
Now this is NOT the engine t-stat...it is a switch for the electric choke. When the block heats up the switch, which screws into the water jacket, opens up and the choke does the same. I might not even have a choice cause I can't seem to be able to find ANY of these darn thing...back to Google search

That sounds like the temp switch's for my water temp alarm only mine close when the temp is reached. It sounds like you need some that open when the temp is reached.

You can correct that with a simple relay. I bought a bunch for less than 5 bucks on-line. Easy to hook up.
