I'm fixing to replace front hatch on the bow & have too many choices for sealer. What does the BigM captains suggest? 4200?

Wayne,
I’ve had great success with a stuff called Rope Caulk that I picked up at Home Depot. When I had a leak at the forward hatch. The caulk is a 1" flat like 8 strand putty like substance. It lasted me 5 yrs & probably still not leaking. The nice thing about working with it there’s no mess when the rim of the hatch swoshes it out just take a blade & gently cut the excess & peel it away careful not to mar the deck paint with the blade & Walla !! hatch sealed & time for some BREWSKI’S Dancing
One thing R U sure the hatch is leaking & not condensation Think

You'll have bad times, but they'll just wake you up to the good times you weren't paying attention to

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Wayne,

I used Permatex Black silicone Adhesive Sealant to reinstall the hatch after repainting the boat. I chose it because our hatch frame is black. I also used it on the window tracks and windshield. No regrets so far.
Most auto parts stores carry it.

I use Life-Caulk, it works well and is easy to clean up - the excess just rubs right off. I use 5200 below the waterline, always. I don't have experience with 4200.
