I have already been told to throw these things in the garbage but it is not in the budget this year so I rebuilt them. I ordered two kits from Mikes Carburetor and all went well. until I started putting everything back together and one of the springs broke that wasn't included in the rebuild kit. I call Mikes and his reply was they were no longer available.d'oh!
I am in need of the light weight spring that goes under the Pump Plunger assembly, they refer to it in the drawing as the Pump Return Spring. Anyone know of a source to find this part?
Thanks,
Rob

You'll have bad times, but they'll just wake you up to the good times you weren't paying attention to

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Sometimes you would be surprised what you can find at the local old school hardware shop. Take your old ones down there and see if you can match it. Also, those springs are used in some other applications somewhere. Look in the yellow pages and find an industrial spring supplier. They will hook you up.

Agreed. A spring is a spring. Go to Ace (or whatever--NOT Home Depot or Lowes) and match up the spring OD and wire diameter. Make sure it's as long or longer than the correct one you took with you. Then cut it to length and bend the wire so it's flat on the end. It'll work just fine.

Jeff

PS: In a boat, that spring is not used all that much anyhow.
