I've got a Jabsco searchlight (model 61040) which has a bad upper steering station control module. I've got the unit (light & both control modules) down at ITT Jabsco in Florida for repair (needs new boot / gears / upper control module) but the money they want for a new control unit is a bit more than I can afford at the moment (200.00). Search of the net has yielded nothing (old, old model light and extremely limited resources for new ones). Without the upper station module I'll still have the lower one to control the bow pulpit mounted light so it's not a critical need at the moment but I'd like to have the boat working "on all cylinders" so to speak.

Anyone have an old one they'd like to part with or a source for a rebuilt/used/ new one?

Bill, not really sure what the control unit looks like but use to have a light on the bow at one time . Are you talking about the control switch 's and knob that direct the light? I believe mine was a jabsco. If i'm talking about the same thing; post a pic and i'll check it out to what i have. Your more than welcome to the one i got. Not in use for sure. Just taking up space.

Mark,

I'm hoping the following link works as I intended. It shows the Jabsco model 61040 with a control unit. You're correct in that it has a small joystick control. I could only find an old black & white pic. Copied the control unit and indicated different points about it. Also there's an unmarked view of the control as well.

This look like yours?

Thanks for responding.

Bill--sent you an e-mail. I may be able to get you a new one at dealer cost/wholesale. I have an account at land/sea marine supply. If you have the part number I can check and see if it is available. John

Bill,
Mine is differently not the same as far as the shape. I know your Marinette is alot newer ; mine is 1972 and the light was probably from around that era.
The question would be ; is your wiring harness to the light supplyed with 5 wires.. ( blue, green, brown, yellow and red )? The next thought would be ( for the electrical guru's ) would not any wired control module with directional controls not work??
Thought i found last night on a Jabsco PDF parts file but can't remember were i was . Will check my history when i get back. I also find it strange that there seems not ot be a part # for this.

Mark
Just found the switch on mine on line. It's a ( Jabsco 8 way switch kit... 43990-0000 ) 1985 and back. $ 71
