I am over Fort loudon marinas thinkin they are sitting on gold water, with the prices they charge for the docks. Thinking about moving the old girl to Watts bar lake. Caney creek is a little closer to the house and 30.00 a month less than Blue springs. If anybody at these 2 marinas wants to throw some input my why to help the decision I would be glad to listen. Not sure why the big difference in the dockage price's but it's almost a hundred dollars a month between the 2 lakes. ThanksThink

Where we boat, on the Chesapeake Bay, it's even worse. Marinas close to Wilmington and Philly charge far more than those further away. We pay 50 % of what we used to pay at one of "those" places.

It is basically GREED, Up on this lake all the marinas owned by a couple of people so no matter where you go YOU PAY dearly. Plus on fort loudon it is like running on Lake Erie( no offense intended towards Lake Erie I spent 30 years boating there), very little consideration and rough as all get out on the weekends from wakes. One of the marinas we checked on went to 407.00 a month for a 40 foot covered slip. Which leads me to believe the rest are not far behind that price.
Keeling Time, I would move there in a minute except that marina takes me an hour or more to get there from my house. It is a nice marina though! I checked on Caney Creek (35 minutes from the house) today and they want 260.00 for a 40 foot covered slip. Looks like we found us a new home. Not far from you Mark looks like you and Wanda might be seeing more of Jeannette and I this summer.:d/ Look out teaky bar.

Since it's over 2 1/2 hours by car to our marina, I'm envious!

Last time I checked it was $7000 + for a 45-50' slip year round at a Baltimore inner harbor marina. Plus you get 1 FREE parking space!!!

Sunset Harbor on middle river is right at $100 /ft per year for slip + inside storage.

I'm sure it's worse up in new england where half the boats are on moorings because you can't get a slip.

Tim we love Watts Bar, but not crazy about the drive. I am just glad that Concord will not increase this year. We will miss you all, but it will be fun to come down for a visit.

The drive was the hardest part of the decision. I am used to going to the old girl everyday after work to relax. That probably won't happen now and, the plus is I'll save a ton on fuel only using her a couple of times a month. Liar
I don't know how you do that drive Jeff. That's a haul.

We know every bump in the road by now, that's for sure. It's a fairly pleasant drive, however, through the PA country side. There's little traffic, other than a few Amish buggies you have to manuever around!
