37' shaft packing?

Does anyone know what size packing I should use on my 37? It has 1 3/8" shafts...Thanks

GFO is the best I have used in over 35 years. Will run years without replacement.

Think My 37' 1975 has 1 1/4" shafts and uses 1/4" GFO packing.BigM

If U go to Dave, Barkley's thread a few up & click on the site he posted than scroll down U'll see the sizes need for different sized shafts Whistle either look on your props if still visible for proper shaft size or use a set of calipers.(if U don't have a set Harbor Frieght sells a cheap set good enough for what we need them for Geeze like this isn't rocket science) Anxious Bills probably right that U'll need 1/4" seeing his shafts 1-1/4" & just the couple of years difference in age Marinette didn't do that much changing Whistle It wasn't till the later years that they started changing things around do to cash flow & finally bankruptcy Brick wall AnyWho my 1/2 penny's worth Boo hoo!

They are 1 3/8". Maybe it's because I have 440's and he's got small blocks?

Well than according to that chart U'll need 5/16" packing at the site Dave posted. It has a toll free # I'd suggest U give them a jingle talk to a tech & problemo solved Whistle they're usually pretty help full Anxious
