Made a set of tools to make those ~@%$! snaps behave; one male tool, and one female tool. (No cracks, Norm!) Each makes the snap half nice and round, which improves hteir action tremendously. Still hate the little ~@%$!

On the subject of Aft deck covers... I recall someone here, who was up in Port Clinton, who ALWAYS did hard top extensions on the Marinettes they owned. Thus, no fooling with Sunbrella tops, etc. Does anyone know what type/grade of aluminum sheet was used on the existing roof of my 73? I'm also musing on the idea of having a solid roof extension made. I figure it would certainly be more durable and make it easier to do a "camping" type enclosure.

Way back when we had a 28 Bayliner, I was seriously considering f-glassing the canvas roof in place. Just leave the canvas there and glass right on top of it! I would have then removed the fabrication, trimmed it neatly, and added more glass to the bottom side. Would have worked great, but the Marinette mercifully came along by then so...

This is a great question...I would love a sun cover over the rear cockpit that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. There are many Marinettes on Lake St. Clair that have them....I would like to pose the question to them...they seems to all have the same ones...

Fellas...what system are you using?
