Hopefully none of southern BigM members have been effected by the devastating weather they R
having there. First off hopefully if so there where no injury’s & secondly if there was any
property damage may it have been insignificant. Pray And if your BigM was in it’s path seeing they’re built like a tank & your battery’s where up they where able to keep up with any weather they may have encountered & may the bumper took the brunt of it. AnyWho may all R members been spared Pray any peril.

Norm; Thanks you for the shoutout to us southern river boys.

Wayne; Glad you and yours are ok and the Southern Lady made out fine.
Not much damage here in Ten mile . Lots of hail and tons of lightning and high winds. Haven't been to the dock but going in about an hour. Should be all good I hope.

Kentucky and Barkley Lakes are predicted to break an all time high water record by Wed. next week.

Due to catastrophic flooding downstream Ohio and MS rivers the flood gates will be closed completely by Friday.
Already the lakes have come up nearly 4 FT above summer pool.

The projected lake crest estimate is 371 MSL that is 12 FT above normal summer pool! Going to play havoc with docks, boats, shoreline and just about everything else. Hopefully winds will stay low and they close to waterway to boat traffic.

Already most dock walkways are partially under water. As the water rises it will put additional strain on hinge points and often will break electrical lines. Obviously this is a very dangerous situation if dock owners fail to turn off dock power.

All we can do is ride it out then clean it up.

Stay safe out there!

Well I was checking on the BigM when the storm came thru. Had no power at boat .The hail come hitting the roof of boat shed was loud. I had never seen hail hit the water before. Each ice ball sent up a spout of water up 10". When I got home we had had 4" hail that got my roof and car and no power even now. Still beter than some with trees in their house. Wayne

Reminds us of why we live in Michigan...forget earthquakes, our hurricanes top out below 100mph, and tornado's you can count on your fingers.

My prayers go with you guys. I heard the death toll is over 300 now.

Fortunately All I lost was my new to me bimini top that I put on last fall. Oh well easy come easy go d'oh! . Also Had a BigM on the hard at our local yard, we are in the middle of a restoration with that one. That area got hammered with winds and hail. No damage God is good, things could have been much worse.
BigM rule, we are taking over the yard. Mine is there to get the sides of the hull painted, 28' is there for restore and we have a 32 on the way for through hulls and bottom painting. Any one on loudon or telico needs to check out our new yard at mile marker 607. Great place to do business.Dancing Dancing Dancing Dancing Applause

DAVE,
Are you saying that KY.Dam can't dump into the Ohio due to the flood stage of the Ohio river? Not alot of places to dump water off the TN. river. I take it that if there's no relief up there on the Ohio river soon ,we at the other end of the TN. river can look forward to even higher lake levels unless things start to dry up a some. Lets hope May will be kinder to us and that jet stream gets its ass back north.

Kentucky and Barkley lakes are used for storage to help control flood waters down stream. (Ohio River which flows into MS)

They are letting the two lakes come up (Cumberland River and TN River) Currently they are 11 FT above normal summer pool)

Barkley dam was Not spilling yet. Kentucky Dam was forced to spill yesterday becuase the water levels were nearly a foot higher on Kentucky lake compared to Barkley. (There is a canal connecting the 2 lakes) That meant water was pushing UP the Cumberland and began flooding Dover, TN.

Yesterdays projection of 374 MSL and been revised to 371- 372 . these projections are changing daily. They did say that levels will remain above 370 for about a week.

These levels have flooded many local roads and have closed most launching facilities. Marina walkways are under water and no fuel is avalable.

safe boating,

Cheer up, buddy, for most boaters have the opposite problem: not enough water! Am I right Lake Lannier folks?
