For those of you that have an RV Roof type of Air Conditioner on your cabin roof, what is the headroom from the bottom of the interior panel to the floor. I am 6',1" and wonder if my head will hit it. I have a 1975 Express.
Thanks for any help, i am trying to decide on which type of AC to install.
Stan

My 28 express has the unit over the v-birth where you do not have to worry about head room. The only problem is no vintelation, which would be nice at times. I have seen some mounted over the cabin but mine does not have a vent there.

Wayne thanks for taking the time to measure for me. I was afraid of that. I will most likely hit my head on the panel. The interior height is 6' 3" and I am 6' 1" but settling a little each year. Heck I should probably measure myself I may be 6' by now
John thanks for the idea of putting it in the V Berth. When you say you have no ventilation, do you mean you put it inplace of the hatch?

Stan, I had to cut a 14" x 14" hole for the unit. Because it is in the center, I think you would miss it if you walked on the starboard side of the cabin. There are photos of the insulation in the archives somewhere.I would repost them but unsure how on the new site. Same unit Diver Dennis has I think. It has vents that you can close off to direct all the air to the V birth & it isolates the air. Keeps me in the upper 60 deg on a hot day. Wayne Click here for pictures of the install.I'm 6' tall and the ceiling kit just grazes my noggin. Just discovered that the Carrier Low Profile AC is no longer available. They quit making them in December, 2009. You could still get one from a dealer's inventory and Carrier will honor all warranties.
