I hauled my 26'this winter, and have installed new cutless bearing, stuffing box, hose and packing etc. It is still on the hard but is badly (in my mind) out of alignment, probably 1/2 " or so to 4:00 position.I had the shaft straightened at a machine shop as it was binding, I know, I should have disconnected it prior to trailering and understand that final align needs to be done in the water but this seems like a lot of flex. I had to trailer it approx 130 miles and it was on stands at a paint shop for 3 months. Do these old girls settle back into shape pretty well once back in the water? The homemade trailer was a tandem axle house trailer frame and does flex under load. Any experiences and thoughts are appreciated.
Neal.
