A boat at my marina had its shaft egg anode loosen up, it slid down the shaft and blocked the water flow to the strut bearing $$$$$. Thought it might be worth mentioning.......

Other than a couple of precautions that I can think of:
1. Usage of Loctite Blue 242 will prevent loosening of threads
2. Torueing the bolts on the shaft egg anode to specs (what would those be - maybe boat zincs
can offer specs?)
3. Usage of 2 good sized plastic tie wraps below the egg. These can be pulled down very
snuggly onto the shaft and their light weight (with the "heads" of the tiewrap 180 deg
opposite one another) shouldn't affect shaft balancing. Two of these would counter the
tendency of the egg to move down the shaft (kind of as "locknut" approach).
