I have a Merc inboard, with post type stud engine mounts. I am doing an alignment and everything is free and not siezed. The studs themselves are turning with the adj nuts, and are pretty hard to get to, should I cut a small slot in the top of the stud so I can hold it with a screwdriver? The studs have no base mounts they are mounted directly to the stringers of the boat with a nut run down to clamp it to the stringer. I dont like the way they did the previous engine installation, no adjustment on the front of the engine just on the rear. Well if anyone has some input Im all ears.
Thanks,
Neal
