$24 to soak up 12 oz of water? Short term solution at bestShame on you If you had 1/4 inch of water in a 100 gallon tank that would be about a gallon of water. That means you would need 5 of these socks to soak it up! $100 is a bit much for a short term solution.

I say install a good set of water seperators for $100 and a little labor time...fixed forever Applause

I'm currently running the old (1985) Perko water seperators. I plan on changing them out for the new filter type this fall. Hopefully the fuel plumbing going to my old Perkos will work for the mod.

Note... There are 10 micron type and there are 21 micron type filters. 21 microns are for carberated engines Anxious

I'm using the Seirra you've posted, Greg, good setup. Mounts in the same general position as the originals. As I recall, all the old fittings fit the new filter/separators without issue.

I have Racor separators now, having replaced the orig Perkos. It was an expensive install done by a mechanic. I shoulda have stuck with the Perkos...they worked just fine with no need for a replacement. I was able to use the same ceramic filters for years. Don't know the level of filtration but I never had any engine problems due to them not doing their job.

It's not a long term solution, just a one time shot kind of thing. I think it's a pretty interesting device.

Jim,
I'm going to have to mod my fuel lines. My exhaust hoses run too close below my Perkos..I can't even fit a jar under the Perkos to drain them so I'm sure the filter wouldn't fit with current fuel plumbing. Got to take a look see Think Thanks for the info Jim.
