Installed 1409s on my 1985 318s. Easy install.

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/mc/carbs_acc/marine.shtml

This may be helpful to some. Here is fuel line kit. I think we need more than 30" of fuel line. I think I would need a minimum of 36"..this is a good reference for you.http://www.aaamarine.com/servlet/the-362/Edelbrock-carb-fuel-line/Detail

Here's owners manual http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/misc/tech_center/install/1000/1409_manual.pdf

Haven't had time to tune metering rods to my 318 engines yet. Anyone done this? I'm thinking we need to run a little richer than factory setting.

There's a vacuum plug on my intake manifold at the 7 o'clock position behind the carb. I have a vacuum gauge and would love to calibrate the carb to my specific engines...maybe someday if I ever get caught upBrick wall . (got for fix stalling problem firstd'oh! )

Now I need to take the time to redo my fuel line from the fuel pump to carb. I don't feel good about how I have it now. I cut the original copper tube and spliced in flex marine fuel line with two clamps on each end. I don't feel real fuzzy about that modification because I feel like without the barb on the original copper tube I will spring a leak...a fuel leak is not what you want on a boat!Sick

Not to mention this is not an approve marine modification as pointed out by some on this site.

I can't find a good solution yet. I like the Russell Performance set ups http://www.russellperformance.com/mc/hose/main.shtml They are not marine approved as far as I can tell. They are NHRA (racing approved)and I would feel safe with them installed.

Just a barbed fitting on the fuel pump would work if anyone has a size and source Think

Any ideas and links would be helpful if anyone has a legal, safe modification on the fuel line.

I think this has been a topic before...but we need links, sizes and part #s.

Here's some photos on drilling the carb for the all-important PCV valve circuit. Drill 1/8 to 3/16 upward to met the horizontal 5/16 " hole that's tapped with an 1/8 " NPT pipe thread. The fitting (tough to find) is an 1/8 NPT to 3/8 " barb.

Jeff

PS: I begged Edelbrock's tech adviser to pre-drill and tap that fool hole, but they haven't yet for some unfathomable reason.
