We are thinking of replacing the noisy Raritan crown heads on our 88 Marinette. I am considering the Super Quiet Jabsco 37045-1092 model that uses potable water for flushing. When someone presses the flush button, the solenoid controlling potable water opens to complete the flush. The water level and flush volume can be set automatic or manual over-ride for difficult flushes.

Because we are not away from the dock for more than 3 or 4 days at a time, running out of potable water is not a concern. I really like the idea of having two water systems (dock side and 12 volt demand pump) to winterize, not the 4 water systems I have now (add two toilet intakes to the list).

The main drive for the decision is to get quiet results and replace one raritan that has a bearing that is failing. Also, it will be nice to return to the boat after being gone for a week and not having a new eco system of algae, sludge and whatever growing the toilets. The use of the chlorinated dock water should keep the toilet bowl cleaner during away times.

Anyone have comments or experience with these toilets? I am buying the toilets from IMarineUSA for about $400 each.

The sailing community seems to like them a lot.. Here's a toilet thread on cruisersforum http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f115/which-toilet-to-buy-43271.html

My toilet uses lake water and I love that feature, less water filling, and less "out of water" experienced'oh!

Let us know what you decide and how it all works out.

That was a good thread to read. Many points of view on toilets, but some very expensive. I have decided to do just one toilet at a time to see if my choice is a good one.
