So all season I have been chasing a 2800-3000 rpm / 20 mph wall.

After reading Jeff post a couple of times, I decided to do the "pull 1 wire at a time" test. Low and behold, I was running on v6's. The port engine had #2 and #4 swapped, and the starboard engine had #1 and #3 swapped. Think

The result? I will need some further testing. I can say with inoperable tabs, and 2/3-3/4 throttle I lost my nerve; 4000 rpm @ 33 mph via GPS!!! She hopped up on plane before, but now it is more of a leap! I can't believe how much umph she has. Call me crazy but with a tail wind and working tabs, I bet she could almost kiss 40 mph. Dancing

I did find what sounds to be fuel starvation on the stbd. engine above a continuous 3600rpm cruise. Without the tabs, she sounds happiest around 3300 rpm. I am thinking once I get the new trim rams on, she will cruise nicely @ 3k around 22mph. I tried doing the rams in the water, but it just aint gonna happen... Maybe next weekend if the travel lift is open I will get them on...

Sounds about right, my 32 does about 19 mph at 2700 rpm which is where I usually get the best fuel economy.

Tryin' to keep up with those muscle boats, eh?

Ain't it amazing that a 32 footer will plane right off with 4 cylinders not working? And damn Chrysler for stuffing the ignition wires between the manifold and valve covers like that, which is why cross plug wires happen.

Glad to hear you squared her away.

It really is amazing... Not only did it have no problems planing, both engines ran fairly smooth, and never gave a problem starting. If you do the math though, 25% of my fuel was going right out the exhaust.

Once I get the tabs working, and get the high rpm backfire (on the stbd engine) squared away, I am going to try and work up the nerve to run her WOT for a minute or so just to get a feel for what she does.

It's kind of weird; I have driven in excess of 150 mph on land (was young and VERY stupid), and was less nervous than I was doing 33 in the BigM. I guess I have just gotten wiser in my old age... lol

Way to go TR Guy! I am trying to track down a 2500 rpm wall myself. I have double checked my wires a couple of times. I did find three wires on my port engine in the wrong position when I first got the boat.

I think I put some cheap Chinese junk wires on which is causing spark jump/ grounding. Running a 45,000 volt coil and I think the wires can't handle it. Got to fire it up at night with the ole windex trick to see what's going on.

Seems that everyone on the race performance forums are saying good things about these usa made wires http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/main.htm
