Capt,

The photos do not display for me. I think it is probably because the URLs are "https://" which refers to a secure website. Since we are not logged into that website, we cannot get the photos.

I am not familiar with Picasa, but perhaps there is a way to make the contents available... Looking forward to seeing your photos!

Doug,
I thought I followed the instructions to do this correctly. Apparently not! This kind of "just try it" thinking is what kept me out of NASA's Space Program.
Counting on someone smarter than I to hold my hand and walk me through this.

You can view by just pasting the link without the img and = sign. To post the picture using the image function the system needs to see a picture format, jpg, etc. The initial links are not picture formats per se. Once the pic is showing on the screen, right click and select "view image" (Firefox browser). This will provide a new photo with jpg at the end of the link. That link can then be copied and pasted into the forum photo image function to display the image as shown above.
Its cumbersome and I don't really know why, I just know how to make it work.

I tried to do all the other pics earlier but the forum kept giving me an error after about 2 or 3 images.

Do all pics with 640 x 480 dimention have the same mb size?(reason I ask is I have tried to post some of mine with those dimensions and it says they are too large). I tried to respond twice but did not go thru. Maybe this one will.

I did a copy & paste with the links, excluding the info within the brackets and the "img" at the end and was able to see them one at a time....

There are 2 ways to post pix.

1) Storing the photo on the forum server. This method severely restricts the file size due to space on the forum hard drive.

2) Linking to a previously posted photo which is what is happening with the photo above. That pic is not being stored on the forum hard drive and size should not be an issue. In this case, size will only be a factor with the initial posting location which is Google Picasa.
*Note if the file size is too big, it may result in having to scroll up/down and left/right to see the whole photo.

640x480 = 307200pixels. This is a raw file size. Most formats such as JPEG/JPG use a compression algorithm to make the file size smaller. The more compression the smaller the file but less photo quality. If you want to post a photo on the local forum hard drive it must be the size that has been predetermined by the administrator. I don't know what that is on this site but you can use a photo re size program to make it smaller. Just google "photo resize".

The links above are just missing the bracket before the /img] like this... [/img] try editing the post and adding the bracket and it should work, otherwise you can copy and paste the links.

I want to thank all of the Marinetter's who have taken the time to help me post picture's of my new project. Someday I will take the time to learn all of the website's tricks and not "rely on the kindness of others". I spent nearly a year on restoration and quite a few $$$, but it's been worth it. Never painted an entire boat top to bottom myself but it was the only way we could afford to do it. I have to fix a few more items, leaking upper helm, 1 of toilets has to come out, etc... But we're hoping to have some fun for the rest of the season. If any fellow Marinetter's are going to be in the Mid-Cheaspeake Bay area, shoot me an e-mail and see if can't rendezvous at a place of gathering to share a bottle and tell stories.

Very nice looking BigM. I didn't know that they made a 34' aftcabin. Laid out a lot different than my 37'. My boay is currently in Alantic Yacht Basin at Cheasapeake, VA maybe we can catch up with you when we continue our loop next spring.

From all the information I'Ve been able to gather, this was the only 34' aft cabin made. Chesapeake VA. Nice place! Our club is about a 2 ride North of Crisfield, MD. A stopover anywhere along the DelMarVa Coast sounds like fun.
