Question for the chemist marinette owners. I have been putting plastic containers of baking soda in the bildge area to fight bilge smells. Any problem with that? Don't want any chemical reactions.

On the advise of someone on this board, after Grafton Marina put a lot of gasoline into my fresh water tanks, we flushed them out using scads of baking soda & water and I'm still alive after a couple years using water(with no odor or taste) from them. Even in my Gin - when I run out of Schwepps!

To All,

I believe it was Joel Albert that turned me on to this stuff a while back when my waste water
holding tank leaked . But it really works Gre8 for eliminating odors It’s called Activated Filter Caron a bit on the pricy side but worth every penny can B found in most pet supply outlets. Just commander some of the Admirals panty hose cut the footies off about 8"/!0" in length pour some activated carbon tie it off & U have one off the gre8est odor eliminators place in strategic areas like Bilge, wine cellar, V-bert, under galley sink U name it that’s a good place to put one. The nice thing about these odor bags U lay them out in the sun for a few hours & they ready to go again. one other thing make up some little Aluminum trays to place them in they tend to leave some dust particles when moving them around. They also work Gre8 for winter lay up no musty smells when U enter the boat in the Spring Applause Dancing

PS. a Pix of what 2 look 4

boatiness

You'll have bad times, but they'll just wake you up to the good times you weren't paying attention to

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
