Is there a link to brochures or something that will allow one to identify different Marinette models. I've seen ones that are like mine but have no bulkhead between the salon & th' V-berth....Brick wall

What model do you have ? what year ? If you have a 32 sedan. Some where around 1986 and up have a sliding door ,that sealed off the v birth. the earlier ones where open, Had a pull crutain. And their was a 32 sedan model B had a full seperate shower ,and a twin size bed in the birth."Butt no dinette" The bed is nice, but you need a dinette with kids. Joe

Marinette made several models, some had forward bulkhead based on year, some never had forward bulkhead.
1985 was the change over for the 32 sedans from forward curtain to bulkhead & door. The exterior styling also changed in 1985 from curved to straight down at the back of the cabin.

Pretty sure mine is a '65 Fisherman. Has the bulkhead at the V berth and rod holders sunk into th' catwalk(IF that is what we call th' decks that run th' length of the hull). Was looking at a boat at Shady Cove and couldn't come up with what model it is. Like mine but no bulkkhead at the V berth and no rod holders(has a flybridge).

Difficult to tell that far back. Would need to see a pic of the boat to tell.

Generally...
37+ sedans with forward bulkhead
32 sedan (sliding glass doors) had no forward bulkhead until 1985.
32 express (kind of looks like sedan but no sliding glass doors) never had forward bulkhead.
32 fishermen is mostly cockpit with little door and hatch to get into cabin area, no bulkhead.

28 fishermen, similar layout as 32 fisherman with little door and hatch and lots of cockpit, no forward bulkhead.
28 express, similiar to 32 express
28 sedan, not sure about forward bulkhead

28 sportsman (bridged and non bridged), like a 28 fisherman but cabin is open except for v-berth door, designed for work/fishing.

32 grand sportsman, cant recall forward bulkhead but was designed for fishing, no bridge but had a wind deflector on cabin top like you see on a truck. Only hand full of these made, I'm told.

There was also another 28 or 32 model that looked like a fisherman but it was more decked out for fishing. I think it had higher freeboard. I don't recall what the model was called and only have seen 1 of them.

I'll have to put together a photo guide one of these days. It difficult to explain in text.

Do you have any pics? I'm not very familiar with the 60's models.
I know Marinette made lots of changes and would customize per customer, within reason.

Thanks, When I get home in about a week, I am going to start the restore on her. Complete paint, varnish and decking. The decking is rotted out around the drains, but otherwise in decent shape for templates. I am planning on using Interlux Brightside for the paint and am undecided about the varnish, any comments on the paint or varnish? She only has 63 hrs according to the hourmeter. Plus it doesn't look like she has been in the water at all, no dents, scratches or dings. Does anyone know what color white is the closest to the original from Interlux?

I will try and post a pic of an overnighter...
You do not have an overnighter. Your picture seems stretched horzontally.

I have a forward bulkhead and a regular swing door to the V-birth. The head is on the port. On my 1966 26' BigM
My overhead is much larger that that pictured and someone added sides to the cockpit and som RV windows.

PS: The stretching seems to be a function of this site.

Computer Joe; I believe your right. Sure looks like a Express. Haven't seen many 66 models of any kind here on the TN. river but doesn't mean there not any. For sure have never seen a Overniter. 32 and up seems to be the prefered lenght here. Still love the 28ft. Fast and easy to handle around the marina's , too much fun than get on the hook for the nite.

Thanks for the replies, I was not sure if it was an overnighter or an Express. But, I can tell I love this BigM She is everything I have been looking for. I hope to upgrade in about 10 years. My ultimate goal is to have a bigBigM to do the great loop. I think that would be the trip of a life time. But, I degress, I have a family and I think she is perfect for the current job. The big BigM will be ready for next year's boating season. I will do a page on its progress in the off season, with pictures before and after along with in-progress pictures. And don't worry, I will be asking for plenty of advice.

Michael;
She's a fine looking Marinette and i know you and your family will have a great time with her. I like the rear deck space that you get with the Express's and bet the kids will too.
