I get to bring my boat back in a few weeks. I will be there working on the trailer this weekend getting it ready for the 326 mile trip back to Michigan. Any suggestions?? Bought this a couple months ago - first go at this whole boating thing. Why didn't someone tell me it was this expensive? Not sure how to post pictures yet. 1968 28' Marinette

You'll have bad times, but they'll just wake you up to the good times you weren't paying attention to

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

Yep, they are a hole in the water but then if we look at what we've all lost on our home values since 2008...

Welcome to the wonderful world of Marinette. If we all had the money that we have put into these boats we could retire again...... Just for the fun of it.
It keeps you out of the bar.

Chickencooker,
Welcome to the forum. Boats are a money pit like any hobby or past time. I really enjoy mine and wouldn't change a thing.

Made it home with the boat with no problems. About $250 in oversize permits. It is now in storage facility and I can turn my attention to the motor. That is why I have this boat because it was about a 10th of the normal cost - just motor was pulled out. I have it mostly rebuilt - will be ready for spring. The whole family is excited for this adventure. If my calculations are correct - it will cost about $5,000 annually just to have a boat, for storage, slip, gas etc. That is without any other issues. Does this sound about right? First time boat owner here.

You used the right word when you said ( Adventure ). We always make our trips adventures which is more fun for all. As for the cost , guess it's about in the park. Just depends on the fun meter.
