I have some belated bad news from the Hurricane that came through the east coast.
My 32 took a beating and wound up sunk. Long story short I took all the precautions I knew to take but the boat didn’t come through the storm. She had 10 lines on her but the heavy winds that came through Monroe Bay Marina at Colonial Beach Virginia were too much for the pylons. The pylons bent back about 25 degrees and let the swim platform back into the dock pylon repeatedly. This eventually sent one of the angled struts through the hull and after a full night of 60 to 70 MPH winds the boat sank. Boat US has been overwhelmed with claims but I have finally received word the boat is a total loss and I will receive full payment. About 10 total loss claims within 1 mile of my boat. I would love to see the boat not go to the scrap yard if someone were to want to take on the project. The boat was salvaged the next day and sits on land at Colonial Beach Yacht Center. The damage to the hull is just at the one strut and easily repairable by a competent aluminum welder. The Boat is a 1987 Fly Bridge Express.
I can buy the boat back and sell to any interested person. The hull is in great shape with very little pitting. Please let me know ASAP if anyone is interested.
Thanks
