This past weekend I accidently grabbed the wrong levers. With the engine at very high rpm I grabbed the shifter and placed it in gear. Bam...killed the engine! Man I figured I broke something for sure.

She ran fine and I could find nothing wrong... Can you believe the transmission and engine are that tough?

Raise your hand if you have done this before Sick

Yup been there and done that... Replaced a bad ballast resister and had a friend start it up after I changed it at a fuel dock. Forgot the throttle was wide open. Instead of pulling the throttle back he grapped the shifter and put it in reverse at warp 10 speed. You are right these trannys and engines are bullet proof. Sumpthin about

Couldn't have grabbed the wrong handle at a worse time Silenced

Crosswind of about 20mph

Backing out of slip, wind pushing me towards a sailboat fast about 40 ft behind me....

Had port throttle at what I guess to be 5000 rpms since that's what the rpm gauge read after I killed the engine by shifting into geard'oh! Couldn't hear the engine sound because I was on the flybridge and wind was loud.

Berthed sailboat approaching fast as the wind is pushing me...Eh? Couldn't believe I recovered in time and the engine started and seemed to work fine in gear....throttle both engine up and got the *^% out of dodge.

Got lucky this time. Pray

Anything I should check besides motor mounts and shaft bolts?

Engine seemed to run fine for the 30 minute run afterwards.

Got to winterize within the next couple of weeksSick bummer...

My hand is raised as well, with the "Admiral" needing to raise both hands! At least 4 grand into gear without a problem.
