Couldn't have grabbed the wrong handle at a worse time
Crosswind of about 20mph
Backing out of slip, wind pushing me towards a sailboat fast about 40 ft behind me....
Had port throttle at what I guess to be
5000 rpms since that's what the rpm gauge read after I killed the engine by shifting into gear

Couldn't hear the engine sound because I was on the flybridge and wind was loud.
Berthed sailboat approaching fast as the wind is pushing me...

Couldn't believe I recovered in time and the engine started and seemed to work fine in gear....throttle both engine up and got the *^% out of dodge.
Got lucky this time.
Anything I should check besides motor mounts and shaft bolts?
Engine seemed to run fine for the 30 minute run afterwards.
Got to winterize within the next couple of weeks

bummer...
