Anyone out there know where 140 degree thermostats can be purchased at?

Apparently these have been discontinued for certain applications (1975 - 1985 part number 3527765) and retailers are recommending the 160 degree thermostats as replacements.

Does anyone have a concern for using the 160 degree thermostats?

Thanks in advance.

Warmer weather on the horizon...

What I recall is that 140-degree stats are for raw water cooled engines, 160 degree for FWC setups. I believe that is from the Chrysler manual that came with the boats or, perhaps, the Marinette owners manual.

The smaller, cheaper ones can be used if you make an adapter plate out of stainless sheet. This modification also cures rotted out (Raw Water Cooled) manifolds so the motor doesn't take all day to warm up (due to water leaking around the t-stat).

The t-stat is epoxied and rivited to the stainless plate.

I just purchased the ones from Napa that DiverDennis recomended. Napa had to order them but they were available the same day. Installed and it worked as it should.
Thanks
