To All,

This ones for Sorry Dog : I didn’t want to let you down by not celebrating this feat even had one
for U Applause

Now for the bad side of the F/B

http://s25.photobucket.c...on=view&current=swi
mplatform001.jpg

http://s25.photobucket.c...on=view&current=swi
mplatform002.jpg

AnyWho hope all goes as well with this as it did with the S/P if the F/B turns out half as good as
the S/P I’ll be HAPPY. The pix don’t do the S/P justice. If interested & want to see more pix
click slide show upper right corner.

To anyone thinking of attempting enlarging their S/P a few things I can recommend cut the old
one off try to sell it to another BIG M owner that needs one & build it from scratch take My word
on this one it will be a lot CHEAPER & a lot less work. The clean up of the Imron paint alone so
the welder could weld it plus the fact it must all come off to be powder coated was very costly. I
could of bought a whole sheet of AL. & still had enough to pay for all the BEER & cigars it took
to get through this Labor of Love. Amen !!!! It’s done

Way to go Norm! You got 'er done. Applause
The SP looks sweet. How did you like drilling those holes below the water line? How many times did you have to climb in, hop down below, get on your knees and check those hole locations? Then double & triple check to make sure they didn't interfere with the stern vertical ribs? Fun huh? Liar

The F/B looks like it's gonna cost a lot of cigs and suds. When does it get blasted?

Do you really drink your BL out of those fancy glasses? Oh, your helpers use them Speak to the hand

Dennis,

D/D wrote: How did you like drilling those holes below the water line?

Reply the first two holes & they where above the water took a hours worth of checking &
rechecking (an not 1 brewski) yet Shame on you

On the checking so that they didn’t line up with the transom ribs had 3 do that problem solved
used a hole saw to accommodate a deep well 9/16ths socket. Brick wall Applause

My Cardiologist will be proud of me when I tell him of all the exercise I’ve done of going up &
down that ladder a zillion times, but lets not elaborate on the suds Shame on you

Never gave the it a thought about using the S/P as a tail gate bar Anxious that was the a test on the
durability of the powder coating.Whistle it passed d'oh! Oh them wine glass where for the neighbor’s wife she was more
nerviest than I was cause she was worried where they’d party this summer if I didn’t launch.
She’s still unaware that shes going to have to come to the west side of the state to suck another
boottle of vino on the “OTM” Angel

On the blasting of the F/B that’s another story the P/C guys equipment couldn’t budge the
remainder of the bond-o had me take it to Mich sandblast, that guy is totally out of his mind he
quoted $1,700 to $2,500 to blast it. I told him so in so many word’s. His reply was he lost $$ on
the blasting of the S/P & he ain’t doing imron no more cause it’s to time consuming. So I brought
it home I’ve in about 5 hours I have 85% of it cleaned up will post later the easy way of getting
the crap off don’t want to put the cart before the A$$ Well I’m off to the garage to finish it off &
hopefully get a coat of Lab Metal on it today. According too the instructions one can thin it down
to a consistency of paint an roll on the final coat. Gotta go see U’all later. Anxious

Here are a few pix of the way I removed the Bond-O from the F/B

In this pic I took a cutting torch & heat till fairing started to blacken with a 2" chisel I scraped off
what I could took several try’s

http://s25.photobucket.c...ent=swimplatform018.jpg

Care must be used not to over heat AL.

http://s25.photobucket.c...on=view&current=swi
mplatform020.jpg

after about 5 hrs. it starts to look good again.

http://s25.photobucket.c...on=view&current=swi

mplatform025.jpg

Now to start applying the Lab metal. Saved at least $1700 not bad pay for about 5/6 hours work

More follow ups to come Boo hoo!
