Noticed an ad in the local Chattanooga paper today. Here it is.

REF: 27080821
Comments: reducedMarinette , 48' twin 454's, complete engine, electrical overhaul, new generator in 99, appraised $96,000, asking $42,900 706-861-2873

Lady told me it was a 1984 model that was originally a 39' but was sent back to the factory in 1999 (????) and remodeled / lengthened. Anybody heard of anything like this? I'm happy with my little 28 footer, but I may have to go take a peek at this one, since she told me about the sprial staircase and the washer / dryer that has never been used.

There were a couple on Ebay a while back. I think one was a 32 that was lengthened and the other may be the one you mentioned. Both looked strange, imo.

John, That BigM was at Island Cove Marina last year on the first row of covered slips on the left. Strange looking . I went to see it on the dock. Should be still there. He got no bids on it & it was on E bay two times that I know of. Wayne

With gas prices approaching $5 a gallon, the old "Four Foot" rule (that "Your next boat will be 4 feet longer") may be reversed!

Jeff

PS: Last boat was a 28. Present is a 32 footer. How about y'all?

I know i'm downsizing, big is wonderful with the nice galley, head with shower central heat and air. But with slip fees and fuel cost plus insurance ect. Downsizing seems to be only economic the way to continue boating.

They sit at the dock most of the time ( here in fl at least) we call them dockominiums, going ahead with my plans to make mine a lady of the evening and rent her out as dockside LOVE BOAT WEEKEND GETAWAY, do it up rite. got big boat show this week end got 500 hand outs being given out by the MERMAIDS! Renting pontoon boats this year to people,as they cant afford to buy one! Moving 12 boats into the show, maybe make a lot of $$$$!!! Cort think about the overnite thing most people dream about spending the nite o a boat like we have. Give them a botle of wine and cater to the upscale market. Week end for 2,Sunsets,girls afternoon on the boat, pain in the butt,I know, Beats seling her in todays market!!!Sorrydog

Wayne,

That must be a strange looking boat. It is at Island Cove and I'm surprised I didn't recognize a BigM in the slip when I stopped in to top off my tank last week. Anyway, having to play 'road warrior' for the work thing this week. Getting to the point where I hate North Mexico. Only thing that is good is South Padre Island, TX - but that's only if I can carve out a little time which is difficult to do. Like I said, I am happy with my 28 Sedan, this thing just sounded like a weird boat....and I was curious about the story.

Sounds like S.D. is going into the floating hotel business. That could prove to be interesting and will probably generate some at least one or two stories.

I'll pass that name along to some of my clients here that are looking for a name for their boats. May even start a yacht club called Dog's Martoony Parlor Yacht Club. Or Call the 44 rental boat in the swamp that, it doesnt have an engine and can't leave the dock anyhow. See it soon on my site under rental boats. Hey! see my weekend, at www.jaxboatshow.com Those are all my boats on lower right in front of tent at the docks.

Hey! How far out do you have to go out for your "Love Boat" to be beyond Prosecution? What was it that we could spend our economic stimulus tax rebate on?
