went to the dana point web site. it is with out a doubt the same thing as the plastek. different name. I guess the marinette forum could private label it and sell it under another name like fastdocjoelsorry dacing material.

It doesn't look like teak, but I like Treadmaster because

1) the little triangles offer fantastic grip, and

2) it's made of cork and won't burn feet or let the deck underneath get hot.

It can be cut with a linoleum knife, and is glued down with marine epoxy. Costs less than $10/sq-ft (from Defender) even if you don't get it surplus.

When I got my 1966 BigM both the cabin and weather decks were completely rotted around the edges. As I was building mine into a work boat to haul divers around I went with aluminum diamond plate in the cabin where the decks were really bad. It gave me 1/2" more head room than 3/4" plyboard and would NEVER rot out again. For the weather deck I am putting down a composite decking (Timber Tek). I went with the T&G decking as it was rated for a 24" span and some of the sole framing on my weather deck were spaces at 22". It is also carries a better fire rating than marine ply, and from my prior boat I know it is not real slipery when wet. The only problem is it does have weap holes to let the water drain through. I wanted to keep the gear in the stern engine space dry so I'm running a bead of white silicone down each of the joints. The result is a durable, rot resistant, teak colored, plank system.

For the working deck I'm looking at going with DuraBak...inches away from ordering. I was hoping someone else here would try it out first.

I painted the flybridge deck with durabak and the floor in the head. I like it & it is easy to clean. Wayne
