What type of wood is use on the flybridge trim and the bow pulpits?

What is the best way to refinish?

That is genuine teak otherwise it wouldn't be there. I have the same pieces off my boat. Mine were moss covered. I washed them with my favorite boat wash. 6-8 oz dawn, 1-2 oz bleach, tablespoon of TSP and 64 oz water. Makes two spray bottles. I will sand them 80 then 150. I may not sand them smooth because my grain is deeply eroded. The texture is OK with me. I will then soak on Teak Oil until they stop taking it. Some folks varnish teak. Not me. It comes with it's own protective oils.

Yep, thats Teak. It can stay that way or you can clean it up and make it look darn near new per Yoops instructions. You can also get a bottle of Teak cleaner at the boat store.

AFter cleaning the teak, I put on two or three coats of Cetol (actually, the cheaper West Marine version of that product). Because it is under cover most of the time, that treatment keeps things shipshape for about 3 or 4 seasons.

It's OK I am too lazy to cut a lime and stuff it into the bottle myself. I am more a microbrew / homebrew fan. I agree it tastes much better cold. The Admrial likes it more than me.
