One step closer to getting some paint back on:

I would have took FastJeff's advice and paid someone to sandblast it for me, but I got tired of playing phone tag and gave up to do it myself. I had 20h blasting time plus masking and cleanup. Not to mention on and off the yard trailer. I am still sore. I had some help in the clean up and filling the blaster pot with sand. Thanks to my Dad and Wife.

It took about 4500lb of sand.

Three Full days 12+hrs.

Whenever I hit the filler around the weld seams It blasted slow!!

Now I have pulled the windows to replace tracks and paint.

Beauty eh? However, I do not envy the daunting job ahead of you. Keep up the good work.

I'm still trying to get all the sand out of my window tracks, and that was 4 years ago when the bottom ONLY was blasted! I can't imagine the time you'll have.

Tell the truth, now; would you do it yourself again?

i wouldnt think the sand would be too much trouble with her stripped down like yours...youll have to water wash the alodine off anyway so seems like it would be a perfect time to do a complete water rinse of the whole boat.......then just wetvac the sand out of the bildge ! see...easy !!, lol

I'll bet he even had sand in his navel!

A stinking hot, miserable job.

JEFF,
You are correct. I am not going to do this again by myself if I can help form it. This BigM project is more than I ever want to get into again. Unless I dont have to go to work or have any Honeydoo work to do.

I seems like I have something going on every evening and weekend. It makes it hard to make headway.

Not to mention the wonderful fuel prices!!! It makes it hard to keep modivated. I guess the
BigM will look good sitting at the dock.Brick wall
